Pebbles Displacement – Substance Designer Time-lapse

By Tutorial No Comments

I’ve been working more and more with Substance Designer lately and have been really enjoying the flexibility of the software and how dynamic asset creation is in it.
I was experimenting on creating a Pebbles texture and thought I’d share my creation process with you, you might be able to learn a thing or two in the process.

If you enjoyed this video and/or want to see more time lapses or tutorials please let me know in the comments below.

The most anticipated update of V-Ray for Cinema 4D is out now! (V-Ray 3.4)

By News No Comments

Article by Yunal Zobu

Stefan Laub and team #vrayforc4d official released V-Ray 3.4

Before diving into the lists of specs, here is something I’m very excited about – version numbering. Yes, those tiny numbers! VRayforC4D will no longer have different numbering than all the other ones (3DS Max, Maya and etc.). This means C4D users finally got their hands on the most recent core version of the popular render engine. (The only higher version currently is the beta for 3DS Max)

While this transition may not seem so important to all of you, let me assure you – this makes it possible for the Cinema 4D community to work daily with state of the art features. And this makes all the difference for every artist, no matter of his current skill level.

Let’s get geeky!

Cinema4D presentations at FMX 2014

By Inspiration, Uncategorized No Comments

The FMX Conference on Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia is Europe’s most influential conference for digital entertainment where Art, Technology and Business meet. Every year, artists, specialists, scientists, producers and other key people come to FMX to network and to discuss production issues, exciting technologies and new ways of financing and distribution across the industries with an international audience.

I love live presentations and these are no exception. In these four videos, you’ll listen to Matthias Zabiegly (AixSponza), Florian Bruchhäuser (LIGA01), Oliver Meiseberg (MAXON) and John Hill (Vincent London) as they talk about production workflow, and share their invaluable knowledge.

Diffusion | Designer Shaders for VrayforC4D Update Pack

By Diffusion, Update No Comments

Yunal and myself have been hard at work this month and have created 10 new beautiful shaders that we’re adding to the Diffusion pack. This array of high-end shaders has so much to offer, not only are these shaders going to add a whole new level of realism to your renders, the complexity and creation of the shaders is also something you’ll be able to take a part and learn so much from.

The Diffusion pack has grown to a staggering 90 shaders, all built with care and attention to detail. Our focus has always been quality over quantity and I think it proves that taking your time and slowly building an amazing pack over pushing out a pack with what I like to call “filler-textures” really pays off in the end and this is definitely a quality product I’m proud to have my name on and use in my daily renders.

Below are the 10 new additions, for more information, check out our product page here.
