Reel Rant – Episode 3

By Reel Rant No Comments

In this third episode, I review the amazing work of Will Fortanbary (willfortanbary.com).

Will’s got a great showreel which really showcases his talent and brings his personality and unique style to the fore. I go over a few techniques on how he can improve his showreel and really elevate his overall presentation.

The most important takeaway for me in Will’s showreel is allowing each individual animation time to breath, so that the viewer can absorb it and understand what is going on in the scene.

Overall Will’s done a great job and I’ll definitely look out for his next reel. Be sure to follow him on Twitter.

Reel Rant – Episode 2

In this second episode, I check out Bogdan Toma’s 2015 showreel.

This is a great reel with a broad range of skills and talents and with nothing negative coming through, I had to become a little picky and really scrutinise the reel. It was a lot of fun and I hope you’ll check out more of Bogdan’s work and support him. (vimeo.com/tomabobu)

Reel Rant – Episode 1

In the first instalment of this video series, I review a motion graphics reel by Sebastien Freuler sebastienfreuler.com – I talk a lot about techniques to improve on his reel and discuss my overall thoughts on it.

Even being the first one off the bat, I really believe this is going to be a great video series, filled with awesome insights and it really is a great way to share my time and experience with the online motion graphics and creative community.

I’d love to hear from you, if you enjoyed the pilot episode and what your overall thoughts are, so please do leave a comment below.

The Question of the Day: What do you think the name of the show should be?
